Well folks, after 12 months of fairly sedentary living and keeping Diageo's profits healthy it's time to get real as I'm having to cut new holes in my belt as well as lift up my love handles in the shower to wash my...well you know! Wink

Sooooo...On the 5th January(When my Mother-in-law goes home) I am cutting alcohol out completely and aiming for at least one hour of exercise a day with the aim of dropping 40lbs by easter,my weight may have changed by then but as things stand currently...

Weight: 221 lbs (Up from 179 lbs)

Waist:38 inches (up from 34 inches)

    BMI: 27.6 (up from 22.3)

For almost seven years, I have asked medical professionals and naysayers, how do I maintain non diabetic BG levels on two Metformin other than low carb ? The silence has been deafening !

Best of luck with the weight loss

To be honest losing sounds easy compared to putting up with the mother in law until the 5th

    Thanks Jan! Smile

I saw my GP as an emergency yesterday and in his opinion the original illness was a strain of Flu but after examining me,listening to my chest, taking my temperature which was nearly 39 and listening to my current symptoms-says I have developed mild pneumonia as a complication so it's Amoxocillin and rest for a while and providing I don't get any worse-I can stay at home which is a bonus as I HATE hospitals...I guess at least I know why my BG readings have been terrible now fighting this.

    Best regards

    Paul

    Sorry to hear that Paul.

As the saying goes 'follow Doctors orders' and hope the 'Amoxocillin' kicks in quickly.

As you say it's no wonder your BG readings have not been good.
Keep warm and get well soon.

All the best Jan ... and Eddie

Yes, get well soon Paul. No wonder you have felt so poorly.

I hope the amoxicillin works for you. It didn't work for my son when we had pneumonia 3 years ago. My son had the amoxicillin for a week and didn't improve at all. He was then put on Clarithromycin which did work. I developed the same thing a week after him and my GP wanted to put me on amoxicillin and I asked for the antibiotic that my son had had. He said I couldn't have it because I was on warfarin. I said I couldn't bear to be this ill for an extra week and I wanted the drug which I knew worked! I got it and lowered my own dose of warfarin and everything was fine.

Just saying, in case you need to go back.

PS I love the avatar! I recognise you at last Smile
