Well, sorry if this seems a silly question but foam rollers and gaiters what sport are you talking about please?

I'm just a humble walker but you've got me intrigued.

    Thanks.

P.S. Hope Tim gets your order sorted ok.

Foam rollers arehard shells with foam in flat, raised knobbles of different shapes or flat and raised knobbles on. You put them under parts of you and roll on them. Hell and painfull but excellent to get rid of muscle knots. l have only used a flat one once and that hurt like hell.

So l got the one labelled the Excelerator but seems l should have got the Beast (click on them it gives a description of how they work)
    http://www.obstaclekit.co.uk/category/foam-rollers

Gaitors are things (under socks) that fit onto your leg then into the eyes on the shoes and keep bits out when racing in OCR got Andy a pair for the race. I didn't see how they could work but blimming amazing so definatly in use when racing next times.

And l have also now been cleared to start gentle lower body excercise every other day providing post excercise and the next day l have no ankle pain. This means l can soon start to run cross country and get into running. I have become very frustrated wanting to do cc as opposed to the roads which l hate and loath.

Hi MID ... many thanks for the info. Didn't realise there was so much different stuff you could get for cross country and obstacle racing. Is what you do similar or the same as 'Spartan Racing'. A friend in the States does something called 'Spartan Racing' which at times can mean getting muddy I think?

I managed a nice walk this afternoon - put my Chris Brashers on and off I went. Did anyone else manage to get out and about?

Yup same thing but lot more intense l am not fit enough for spartan. If you mis one of their obstacles you have to do a penalty of so many burpees which l don't do cause of bad knees.

Yes, it does sound intense and I've seen video clips of people doing 'burpees' - admiration all round.

It is important to get fit / keep fit and everyone enjoys different things, but guess you have to take injuries or other health/fitness issues into account. Physiotherapy is not always easy to get on the NHS and paying privately can cost quite a lot.

No I think I'll stick with walking and dancing, well moving to music don't know if you could call it dancing! sunny

Guess it just goes to show - whatever exercise we choose to do, care must be taken. Even out walking a trip or fall can be nasty.  Having said that it mustn't put us off. I had a great walk in the rain this afternoon, tried to avoid the puddles and there were loads but the little kiddies out with parents were enjoying splashing in puddles - as if there wasn't enough water splashing around lol!

Did anyone else get soaked in the showers today, or were you sensible and stayed indoors.

MID ......Just wondered has your order turned up yet, or is it a bit early still?
