The Big Fat Surprise ........Nina Teicholz's book about why butter, meat and cheese belong in a healthy diet does reveal the un-thinkable ......for some !

But not for me and I suspect many others. Butter is so much part of the daily meal plan, as it was when growing up as a child, as too were dripping and lard. All these three are beginning to make a strong come back and I so question myself as to why for so many years I was doing something that did not do my body too many favours I was buying and using the chemical goo that is spreadable !

Butter is my friend not my enemy.  sunny

Have you read this book yet ?

What are your views on fat ?

    All the best Jan

Love read the first half.  Keep meaning to go back ans skip to the final 'conclusions'.

I found it interesting, but dislike the way it veered off course into Ancel Keyes character assassination in places, which quite put me off.  Very detrimental to the message.

Someone can be wrong.  They can also be an ar*e.  But there is no need to use the latter to make them the former.

The best bit about the book is that I gave a copy to my father, for Father's Day.  He is now eating butter with even more relish, AND it has stopped my mother from huffing and tutting whenever he reaches for the cream. Since she has been doing that for 40 years, it makes a pleasant change to their mealtimes. Wink
