Re: Itsu Seaweed Thins
These do look interesting and I'd certainly give them a try, if I was ever near one of their stores.
According to the web site they have over 60 shops in London, a shop in Cambridge, on Oxford's Cornmarket Street, Reading, Richmond, Westfield London, Stansted Airport and our 2 flagship restaurants, itsu [dining].

... and yes, Andy " seaweed from the Chinese, which I've been told is actually shredded cabbage?"
you are correct (see the Wiki article)
All the best Jan

Re: Itsu Seaweed Thins
That reminds me I haven't had any "sea vegetables" for a while. The organic shop has a bunch of different types of dried seaweed most of which go especially well with (king) prawns.

They have a strong fishy taste that lingers, three hours on and I can still taste them

Mackerel?
Actually I had something similar occur today, I had some cucumber in a salad at lunchtime, which is still reminding me 11 hours later why I don't eat cucumbers.
Was the the DCUK forum whose spam filter was set so cucumber became cuspamber?

Re: Itsu Seaweed Thins
Talking of cucumbers.
FIRST it was whipped cream - now Tesco staff are promoting CUCUMBERS as the "ideal" Valentine's treat.
The smutty sign was spotted by eagle-eyed shoppers in the salad section and understandably raised a few eyebrows.
It comes just days after the supermarket giant appeared to encourage customers to have some fun with whipped cream over the romantic period.
And its latest rude promotion of the phallic-shaped vegetable has landed the store in a bit of a pickle as the snap quickly went viral on social media.

Who said romance is dead. As Tesco like to say every little bit helps

That's typical of you, you always have to go over the top Mind you, nothing compared to the flog. I checked in this morning to see a new pop up feature.
Which proves beyond all doubt the numbers the flog quotes are a complete fabrication. Still being quoted. I suspect their 40,000 people signed up for our LC program was complete and utter fantasy. Maybe they could start a new competition, spot the complete and utter lie spouted by the management 'today' and win a mug.

Re: Itsu Seaweed Thins
You would have loved my mother. Once she was walking through the Co-Op absentmindedly carrying a cucumber in an erect position.
"You wouldn't believe she is over ninety!" I said to one of the staff.
Collapse of several shoppers with mirth.
