    Tomato Puree

Post by chris c on Tue Aug 15 2017, 23:02

They changed the design on the tubes, AND the shelf they put them on, but I found the stuff eventually.

I no longer have any of the "old recipe" to compare but I'm pretty sure the new stuff has way more sugar added. Dammit.

Don't you just hate it when they do that !!!

When buying all you can do is check the ingredients/nutrition labels and do your best to buy the lowest carb one available.

On the other hand you could make some of Brenda's ' Healthier Low Carb Homemade Tomato Ketchup '

It does look good doesn't it Smile

Tomato puree SHOULD just be tomatoes. I wonder if the stuff in the cans has also been changed, I should look, I use the tubes as it keeps better.

Yes, the tubes of puree do keep quite well in the fridge ...
You can also get them with added garlic Smile

Do NOT accidentally put the toothpaste in the fridge and the puree in the bathroom. We've all been there . . .
