Dietitians in Bristol find a revolutionary treatment:

    Post by graham64 on Thu Jun 29 2017, 22:46

Dietitians in Bristol can stop childhood seizures with treatment so revolutionary they are not even sure how it works

The high-fat and protein diet is a last resort when drugs don't work. Its effects have astonished experts at Bristol Children's Hospital.

Children with epilepsy are getting ‘life-changing’ treatment by being put onto a special new diet pioneered in Bristol – but even the experts aren’t quite sure how it works.

The dietician team at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children have seen ‘incredible’ results by switching children who suffer from repeated seizures to a special new diet. The ketogenic diet is high in fat, with lots of protein but low amounts of carbohydrate, and each diet is tailored to the individual child’s needs.

Young patients are referred to the dieticians almost as a last resort, only after they have failed to respond to at least two rounds of the standard anti-epileptic drug treatments and are still suffering from seizures.

But they are dietitians Chris you must realise that real research into historic events is beyond their remit, but who would have thunk it proposing a diet that removes a whole food group and reduces medications  Surprised

AND they'd know how it works if they'd ever heard of PubMed.

Meanwhile they are fighting all references to ketones vs. cancer and even calling for research into the ketogenic diet to NEVER be carried out, despite this being known for at least as long as Otto Warburg discovered that most BUT NOT ALL cancers are fuelled exclusively by glucose.

They mention epilepsy too but I think they got away with it
