    In the papers.

Post by Eddie on Wed Apr 13 2016, 14:57

I am starting this thread to post up stuff I see in the papers. Never a day goes by when I don't read an article and think Jeez what's this world coming to. One of the advantages of going low carb and preparing all your own fresh food is you should be able to avoid food poisoning if you are careful. I wonder how many people were poisoned at this joint. affraid

"A curry house chef prepared food after wiping his bottom with his hands - because he doesn't use toilet paper for 'cultural reasons', a court heard .

Mahbub Chowdhury, 46, had an empty bottle in his kitchen which inspectors discovered was covered in fecal matter.

He said he filled the bottle with water from the kitchen taps and used it to clean his bottom after visiting the toilet - and did not use paper for cultural reasons.

Chowdhury then prepared dishes including meat and fish curries at his Yeahya Flavour of Asia in Swindon, Wilts.

He pleaded guilty to 10 allegations of breaching food and hygiene regulations at Swindon Magistrates Court and will be sentenced later."

Renta gob PIERS MORGAN: "The sight of Kate and William feeding a baby rhino may be cute but when you consider that there are two stuffed ones sitting in Sandringham the hypocrisy makes my stomach churn"

    From here  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3538017/PIERS-MORGAN-sight-Kate-William-feeding-baby-rhino-cute-consider-two-stuffed-ones-sitting-Sandringham-hypocrisy-makes-stomach-churn.html

Two comments from Daily Mail readers.

"Perhaps Morgan might tell us how OLD those stuffed relics are in Sandringham and who presented them in the first place............?"

"Well I think Philip must be in his 90's not sure about the other one."

Maybe that Chef in the first post could make better use of the Mail, it might keep him out of court if he opens up another restaurant. affraid

UK airport sniffer dogs good at finding sausages, but not drugs.

A team of sniffer dogs set up at a British airport at a cost of 1.25 million pounds have proved adept at discovering small amounts of cheese and sausages but not so good at finding smuggled drugs, a report said on Thursday.

An inspection of border security at Manchester Airport in northern England found that during a seven-month period, the six dogs had failed to find any illegal class A drugs, those considered the most dangerous such as heroin or cocaine.

Live in Blackburn Lancashire? keep away from the take away's! not one gets a good rating for hygiene. Yet another advantage of preparing your own low carb food, the food poisoning in that area must be off the charts. affraid

London gets first naked restaurant, waiting list already at 5,000.

"I don’t know about you, but if there’s one thing that’s always bugged me about eating in restaurants it's having to wear clothes. Why stain them, when you can imbibe as the Romans might, naked, with sauce and wine spilling all down your body?

This is presumably the gap in the market The Bunyadi is hoping to fill, a pop-up restaurant coming to London this summer for three months.

‘Enter a secret Pangea-like world,’ its website promises, 'free from phones, electric lights and even clothing (optional) and revisit the beginning where everything was fresh, free and unadulterated from the trappings of modern life.’

The Bunyadi - named after a Hindi term for ‘base’ or ‘natural’ - will have a naked and non-naked section, along with a changing room to cater for the former.

There will also be food, you’d hope, though it’s not immediately clear what will be served."

Jeez, I can't imagine the sort of person whose eating experience would be enhanced while looking at my grizzled and shrivelled, cadaver like torso, but as they say at the forum of flog "we are all different".  Check out my whelk rofl

Hell hath no fury etc............... affraid

Grandmother, 70, attacked her husband of 50 years with a meat hammer after catching him watching porn and exclaiming: 'He hasn't touched me in ten years – how dare he!'

"The 78-year-old was left with severe head injuries following the attack and ran out into the street bleeding while telling neighbours his wife had 'gone mad', Burnley Crown Court heard.

When Holmes was arrested and questioned by police over the incident she said she had seen 'red mist' and later told officers that it 'should be murder' because 'how dare he?' watch porn.

She said: 'I caught him with porn. He tried to get rid of it. I've seen red and attacked him. I wanted to kill him.

'It should be murder. I want 10 years of my life back. I saw red mist.

KFC has launched an investigation after the chain was caught serving ice with bacteria from faeces on it.

The shocking discovery was made at the KFC branch in Birmingham's Martineau Place by researchers from BBC One's Rip Off Britain show.

They were looking into food hygiene standards at several big name takeaways and coffee shops.

Experts said most of the samples turned up low and harmless levels of bacteria – but warned customers could get sick from the bug found in the KFC drink.

Dr Margarita Gomez Escalada, who examined the results at Leeds Beckett University, told the programme: "We found high levels of bacteria in the ice.

“The presence of faecal coliform suggests that there's faecal contamination either on the water that made the ice, or the ice itself.

“And so it increases the risk of getting sick from consuming this ice."

I don't suppose the members here run a high risk of food poisoning from fast food junk. Yet another benefit for the low carbers cooking whole fresh food meals at home. thumb-up

Seven police storm 73-year-old's house to seize her 'dangerous' ten-year-old Yorkshire terrier after it 'chased a delivery man and made him fall over'

Some extracts from the Daily Fail Article. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4812254/Seven-police-storm-73-year-old-s-house-seize-dog.html

"Seven police officers stormed a 73-year-old woman's house and seized her 'dangerous' ten-year-old Yorkshire terrier Alfie after he chased after a delivery man. Claudia Settimo-Bovio, from Kingston in south west London, claimed officers in five cars came to take her dog away on Friday.

'There were seven of them in five cars and they came to the house and said they had a warrant to take the dog away.

    Plod comment.

'The victim, who is in his mid 30s, went to a west London hospital and was treated for minor injuries. He reported the matter to police on June 26.
'As a result of the information at 08:08hrs on Friday, 18 August officers from Kingston attended an address in Vale Crescent to carry out a search warrant under section 5 of the Dangerous Dog's Act 1991.

'Two dog units and three local officers attended the scene. The dog was found to be a Yorkshire Terrier. One dog unit remained to give advice and the other left.

'A police van was used to transport the dog. Inquiries continue."

Reported on June 26th swat team arrives 18th of August, must have been one of the METS rapid response units. rofl If the old dear had been burgled or mugged she would have been lucky to see a cop before Christmas. affraid
