Sadly not in my house when I was a kid,just the low fat gloop that was fashionable in the 80's/90's but both sets of Grandparents did and my Nana used to make the best homemade chips in the pan with dripping as did the chip shop local to her and none of that 'FryMax' franken oil that they use in modern chippies-I fell out of love with the chip shops a long time before LCHF as the grub was nasty from my local ones.
