It is only a matter of time before this type of atrocity happens again. Next week, next month, next year. We all know this, and we all know what needs to be done to stop this happening. Our leaders are gutless and are controlled by those who profit from war. The EU experiment has failed in every way and needs breaking up. Or at the very least we must get out. We need to control our borders and stop terrorists entering the country. As for the 'home grown' terrorists we need to recruit far more Police, Intelligence people and Soldiers. Much of this carnage we are seeing is down to the US, backed by our lapdog politicians starting wars in countries like Iraq and Libya. These countries may have been formally run by despots, but the despots had a grip on the situation, now everywhere is complete anarchy, including much of Europe. We are heading towards a third world war, or at the very least civil wars in European countries, and still the politicians fiddle while Rome burns. The giant Ponzi scheme for the mega rich and powerful must be maintained at all cost, and the cost will be millions of lives, and as with all wars, the innocent will pay with their lives. The mega rich and politicians will be protected and £billions will swell the coffers of the war mongers.

Sadly, I think you're spot on Eddie. We removed previous evil leaders like Saddam Hussein etc, this led to chaos and worse replacements. Much of the Middle East is historically tribal. Trying to "Westernise" them was and is a huge mistake.

Check out the Sykes–Picot Agreement. We laid the foundations for what we are seeing now almost exactly a 100 years ago. From Wiki

To be honest so is a lot of the rest of the world. Even here in the UK the Normans (southerners) are still fighting the northerners and others, only economically rather than using guns. Remember Orgreave? With the London cops paid huge amounts of money to beat on the miners?

An old friend, now fortunately long dead, reckoned the Third World War would start in the Balkans following the reunification of Germany. He was nearly right. He also warned of the Middle East with the Jews (westernised Arabs) vs. the rest of the Arabs. He didn't have such a handle on the Sunni/Shiite/Kurdish conflict and others though.

Then there are large portions of Africa which are loaded with raw materials they sell to the West for pennies, while borrowing money to buy arms, then demanding food aid which ends up in the hands of the Ruling Elite and their tribe while the other tribes starve.

While what happened in Paris is a major tragedy, just how many people does the NHS kill prematurely every day?

Too right Chris us Normans must stick together against the Celts in the North. Take Graham for instance, he can be a right cantankerous old Celt at times.

Us Saxons in the middle seems to have avoided a lot of the conflicts. Something I didn't know until recently was that the Romans actually *invited* the Saxons to settle in what was then their country.

It's all about divide and conquer though - and sell weapons to both sides. I bet while Putin is loving up to the psychopathic bastard in Syria he's also selling weapons to the rebels. Meanwhile we were/are sucking up to the Saudis and Indonesians and the Yanks were supporting just about every right wing dictatorship going. I wouldn't be in the least surprised to find Israeli weapons going to the Palestinians.
