    Beef bourginion (posh stew)

Post by Mrs Vimes on Mon Aug 17 2015, 10:19

Just a quick one. Slow cooked Jan's recipe off the blog. Had it with cheesy cauliflower mash. Tested 2 hours later and was on an 8 but that was as high as I got. Brought that down quickly. Next time I'll part bolus an hour before.
No probs with sugars through the night, running in high 5s low 6s according to cgm. 4 units of insulin in total for the meal, less if I didn't stuff down so much cauli cheese but it had to be done. Type 2 partners blood sugars were 5.8 before bed.
A success and definitely down as a fave now.

Gorgeous- and the house smelt lovely.

I ate the left over stew for breakie. Didn't even warm it up as I tasted it then nearly inhaled it. I'd been to circuits and was starving so only needend 1.5 units of insulin.
    I'd recommend it.
