    +1 from me.

A good time to bump up Rod's post, in my opinion the best post ever made at this forum. A masterclass in diabetes control using minimal if any meds type twos' only. Type one diabetics will see how insulin can be drastically reduced while still eating varied and satisfying meals.

Happy birthday Paul, I'll be raising a glass of Jack Daniel's to you, when the sun gets over the yard arm. I appreciate you have better things to do, than hang about on here too much, with a bunch of refugees from the fifties/forties with one foot in the grave. Most of 'em are reprobates and trouble makers.  affraid  That being said, we do have a few sane and respectable members. Very Happy

Have a good one mate vodkamachine

Cheers mate! Very Happy I'm viewing my Birthdays as survival goals these days-When I turned 28 I celebrated as I'd beaten Jimi Hendrix,Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain,at 34 I'd gone longer than Jesus and my next one is 43 as I'll have beaten Elvis! lol

Kinda irritating that those listed are all still more talented than me even though they are dead (Jesus sucked at the guitar)

I'm week by week now, everyone at work is "yay! its Friday" I'm like "phew I made another friday"

Wait to you get to my state of decrepitude. Even if I ate bananas (I don't) I would not buy any green ones. One good thing about gettin' old, ya don't give a f**k rofl What's the worst anyone can do to ya, kill ya? I've got dying sorted. BTW have you seen what a funeral costs these days? Jeez, I could buy a tidy Honda 2000 for that sort of money. rofl Jan, get me a refund from the CO-OP. affraid

Most of my favourite music is by dead people.

When I wake up in the morning I think "that's a good day".

Sad to read David Mendosa is on his last legs, I remember him when he was Rick Mendosa on usenet and his website was comparatively tiny

How many current diabetics will live to be 82 though?

He has now sadly passed away

"He retired from writing for HealthCentral in April 2017, following a diagnosis of cancer. In his “Diabetes Update #226: Goodbye,” newsletter, published on his website on May 1, 2017, David let his readers know that this would be his last communication — and that his illness was not related to his type 2 diabetes:"

That's the way to do it, go quick at the end, and not from diabetes complications. Though I wonder if his low carb diet was listed as a cause on his death certificate.
